Distribution of a hair colour product over lengths and ends without removing all product from roots. The taking-through time is also the time that the product stays on lengths and ends. This depends on how faded the previous colour is.
A colourless, pungent gas composed of nitrogen and hydrogen combined. In hair colorants the ammonia derivative is ammonia hydroxide, which is a solution of ammonia in water. It has the property of making the hair fibre swell by slightly lifting the cuticles, which allows for the penetration of hair colour agents.
This is also known as oxidative hair colour and has permanent results. It simultaneously lightens and re-colours.
An element that releases oxygen. It is unstable and breaks down into water and oxygen. Its strength is expressed by the percentage of pure hydrogen peroxide or the volume of releasable oxygen (e.g. 6% or 20 vol.)
The process of massaging and loosening the hair colour mixture from the hair. With INOA, start emulsifying by massaging the hair without the addition of water. Once the colour mixture has been loosened from the hair, continue, adding a small amount of warm water to facilitate the emulsification of the product.
Intensity of the natural colour or artificial colour of the hair. The tone level is expressed by a conventional number from 1 to 10, i.e. from darkest to lightest.
To facilitate the use of hair colour products, a numbering system is used to identify the colour. It comprises a first number that indicates the level (from 1 for black to 10 for the lightest blonde), followed by a comma and then one or two numbers indicating the reflect (from 1 to 7)
Agent capable of releasing oxygen, which acts on another component to modify it. It is an active principle of any permanent oxidative hair colour, such as lightening.
This adds tone to a colour. Can be applied either over a natural hair colour (direct hair colour) or with the fundamental base shade (permanent hair colour). The main reflects used are: ash / iridescent / golden / mahogany / red / copper.
The necessary time for colour to develop (lightening and colouring).
Mandatory allergy test that needs to be taken 48 hours before application of an oxidative hair colour. A small amount of hair colour mixture (Oleo Gel + Hair Colorant in pre-measured proportions) should be applied behind the ear using a cotton bud. Apply enough colour mixture to cover an area about the size of a penny. Re-apply 2 or 3 times allowing to dry between each application. Leave for 48 hours without washing, covering or touching. If during this period your client notices any abnormal reactions - such as itching, redness or swelling in or around the test area - do not apply INOA.
